ERIC PETERSEN-BRANT, 56, of Dubuque, died at home on the afternoon of Friday, May 15, 2020. The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. A celebration of Eric’s life and magical unicorn spirit will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Magical Unicorn Memorial Fund, c/o Premier Bank, 2625 NW Arterial, Dubuque, IA, 52002, Dubuque, IA. Funds will be used to support causes Eric championed that help kids gain better access to making music, creating art and riding bikes.

Longtime resident of Tupelo, Miss., FARRIS H. “BILL” ELLIOTT –loving husband, irreplaceable father to five sons, wonderful grandpa and great-grandpa, and one of the oldest living WWII veterans –peacefully met the Lord our Creator Tuesday, April 28, 2020. EDWARD “ED” YOUNGBLOOD, 60, of Decorah, died Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his home in Freeport outside of Decorah. There was a graveside service with full military rites Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 1 p. m., in the Freeport Cemetery. Rev. Al Hanson presided. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements. ELSIE RYAN, 90, passed away peacefully May 15, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Although Elsie loved to see old and new friends together, enjoying food and drink, a private ceremony and burial will be held because of the pandemic. Elsie had a great sense of humor and a love of adventure. Many in the family and the community have stories to tell that will keep her spirit alive in our hearts. When we can hold a gathering in person, please share your stories and fond memories with Tom and the family.

ANITA HUBER, 101, of Calmar, died Monday, May 18, 2020, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah. A memorial mass will is at 4 p. m. Friday, May 22, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar. The service will also be livestreamed in the St. John’s Cemetery in Fort Atkinson following the mass. Rev. Robert Gross will preside. The Schluter-Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
