$1,000 drawings held during the event, and the winners determine which nonprofit military-based group received the funds. However due to the 2020 event cancellation, the company doubled the dollar amount they donated this year, totaling a notable $40,000.

Along with the money, the company also gave away a week-long bus trip to Washington, D. C., and a flag to be flown over the U. S. Capitol dedicated to the winning Veteran.

Many of winners donated their prize money to their local legion, including St. Lucas, Fredericksburg, West Union, Fort Atkinson, Lawler, New Hampton and others. Glenn Larson, President of the Winneshiek County Veterans Memorial Association, was also a winner and donated his money toward the upcoming WCVMA memorial project.

Three-hundred-fifty Veterans attended the event, and over 800 free BBQ dinners were served to participants and their guests. Lynch noted, “We do it for any Veteran … that’s what this is all about.” Lynch said that he considers the

event to be a success simply when Veterans attend and have a good time.
